Sylvester Mensah Ghanaians who were “unfairly” sacked from their posts by the NPP government following its electoral victory in the 2016 general elections have no course to worry as the NDC has promised to re-employ them when it regains power in 2020. The 2016 Greater Accra Regional Campaign Coordinator of the NDC, Sylvester Mensah made this promise when he spoke to journalists on the sidelines of the Founders’ Day Solidarity march in Accra, Thursday. According to the former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), the NDC shares in the pain and the suffering of all those who have become jobless just because they have been tagged as NDC supporters. “We’re solidarizing with all Ghanaians who after the victory of the NPP have lost their jobs, either they have been sacked, have been suspended, have been transferred, all those who for simple perceptions of belonging or sympathising with the NDC have lost thei

According to Mr. Terkper, all three former Presidents from the NDC namely; Jerry John Rawlings, John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama have all proved to be strong and great leaders who have followed the footsteps of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Mr. Terkper told ghanaweb.com in an interview after the party’s Founders’ Day solidarity march in Accra that Dr. Nkrumah, just like the NDC believed in socialism, thus exhibited great leadership through social intervention programmes during his era as a president. “Kwame Nkrumah is a left-of-centre thinker. Kwame Nkrumah believed in institutions. If you look at what he did to the ideo

Former High Commissioner to Namibia, Harruna Attah While some groups and individuals within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are against the comeback of former President John Dramani Mahama as flagbearer of the party in the 2020 presidential elections, Harruna Attah has declared his unflinching support for him. According to Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah, it will be good if the former President who was defeated in the 2016 elections by NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo decides to contest in the 2020 elections. He said Mr. Mahama has performed well and as such has every right to contest for the presidential slot. Speaking to Paul Adom Otchere on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana show, the former Ghana High Commissioner to Namibia said, “I think the decision is his. If he decides to run, I thinks it will be a good decision because I haven’t convince myself that he didn’t do well enough.” Inasmuch as the Constitution of Ghan

Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah A former High Commissioner to Namibia, Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah has advised government to desist from “attacking” Ghanaian owned businesses. Instead of witch-hunting local businesses, he said government should rather support the owners and create an enabling environment where these businesses can thrive. Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah’s comments come in the wake of the collapse of some local enterprises as a result of either their inability to meet government’s requirements or failure to use appropriate methods in their dealings. In an interview with Paul Adom Otchere on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana show, the veteran journalist consented that businesses that do not operate according to the country’s business laws should not be shielded.  He said, while exposing the wayward ones, government must also support the others who deserve protection.  He explained that, “Local businesses

Founder of  Stacy M. Foundation, Mrs. Stacy Amewoyi The Chief Executive Officer of Stacy M. Foundation, Mrs. Stacy Amewoyi has called on the affluent in society to see charity as a shared social responsibility and be sensitive to the needs of the less privileged in society.  According to the USA-based Ghanaian model and philanthropist, most rich people have become very greedy and selfish because they are interested in enriching themselves. She explained that because some well-to-do persons struggle to get to their status, they have decided to leave others to their fate, hence have turned deaf ears to the cries of the less fortunate and those who need their help.  Mrs. Amewoyi who doubles as the CEO of New York Fashion Boutique stressed the need to help the needy, indicating that it is a blessing to help the less privileged. “Don’t wait to have much before you be a blessing to others. In the little way you can, just reach out. Don’t cook and

The wait is over for members of the St. Dominic Catholic Church, Taifa as all is set for the dedication ceremony and the climax of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Church. The much-anticipated “spiritual” ceremony which is scheduled for Sunday, August 27, will be led by the Archbishop of Accra, Most Rev. Gabriel Charles Palmer-Buckle who will also be the main celebrant of Mass on the D-day. To this effect, preparations are underway as parishioners together with the two “energetic” Priests, Rev Fathers Emmanuel Obeng Cudjoe and Courage Senam Dogbey and leaders of the church put finishing touches to remaining works to put the premises and building in shape. The dedication ceremony is necessary because the Bible directs that every building that serves as a house of God be consecrated as seen in Exodus Chapter 40 where Moses was commanded to set up the tabernacle and anoint it with oil. “Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and al

NDC needs a better candidate for 2020 polls not Mahama – Dela Coffie

Dela Coffie - NDC Activist A staunch supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dela Coffie has cautioned leaders and members of the party to reject former President John Dramani Mahama as flagbearer of the party in the 2020 General Elections. To Dela Coffie, bringing the former President back as presidential candidate in the 2020 elections will jeopardize the party’s chances of regaining power because he has become very unpopular due to his humiliating loss in the previous presidential polls. According to him, if John Mahama, as an incumbent president could lose miserably in the 2016 elections, then he has no merit of becoming victorious in the upcoming elections, therefore retaining him as flagbearer will only keep the party in opposition for many years. He noted that since the party’s electoral defeat, little has been done to resolve issues that drove the party into opposition and those memories are s
