In a country like Japan where only about 1.3 percent of its population is made up of non-nationals and noted for “discriminating” against foreigners, every person of Black descent will undoubtedly struggle to survive. But a Black guy who finds himself in Japan has defied all odds to become one of the top rising comedy stars in the Japanese capital, Tokyo. 30-year-old Ike Nwala is a Nigerian-American who appears on TV almost every day. Just like all Japanese stars, Ike Nwala receives equal attention and treatment from fans and people he meets in his career as a comedian. As a member of popular comedy troupes, he performs live shows, does commercials and appears on variety shows as well.                                   Providing free education only at the secondary level is just one step to solving the ladder of problems in the education sector, President of Groupe Nduom Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has said. More importantly he says, every school-going child, right from infancy, should be given a fair chance to attend school at minimum or no financial cost at all as this will help significantly to reduce the rate of school dropouts Ghana records on a yearly basis. According to Dr. Nduom, the challenges that confront school children from the basic level dissuades them from continuing school hence most of them abandon school before they get the opportunity to enrol in SHS. “My focus is not on Free SHS. My focus is on every child been educated from kindergarten all the one to the end of Senior High School because if you don’t get through kindergarten, through primary, you don’t get through Junior High School, you can’t get to Senior High School and many of them fall o

The 2016 Greater Accra Regional Campaign Coordinator of the NDC, Sylvester Mensah made this promise when he spoke to journalists on the sidelines of the Founders’ Day Solidarity march in Accra, Thursday. According to the former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), the NDC shares in the pain and the suffering of all those who have become jobless just because they have been tagged as NDC supporters. “We’re solidarizing with all Ghanaians who after the victory of the NPP have lost their jobs, either they have been sacked, have been suspended, have been transferred, all those who for simple perceptions of belonging or sympathising with the NDC have lost thei

According to Mr. Terkper, all three former Presidents from the NDC namely; Jerry John Rawlings, John Evans Atta Mills and John Dramani Mahama have all proved to be strong and great leaders who have followed the footsteps of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. Mr. Terkper told ghanaweb.com in an interview after the party’s Founders’ Day solidarity march in Accra that Dr. Nkrumah, just like the NDC believed in socialism, thus exhibited great leadership through social intervention programmes during his era as a president. “Kwame Nkrumah is a left-of-centre thinker. Kwame Nkrumah believed in institutions. If you look at what he did to the ideo

According to Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah, it will be good if the former President who was defeated in the 2016 elections by NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo decides to contest in the 2020 elections. He said Mr. Mahama has performed well and as such has every right to contest for the presidential slot.                                                       Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah A former High Commissioner to Namibia, Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah has advised government to desist from “attacking” Ghanaian owned businesses. Instead of witch-hunting local businesses, he said government should rather support the owners and create an enabling environment where these businesses can thrive. Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah’s comments come in the wake of the collapse of some local enterprises as a result of either their inability to meet government’s requirements or failure to use appropriate methods in their dealings. In an interview with Paul Adom Otchere on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana show, the veteran journalist consented that businesses that do not operate according to the country’s business laws should not be shielded.  He said, while exposing the wayward ones, government must also support the others who deserve protection.  He explained that, “Local businesses
