The Minister-designate for Inner Cities and Zongo Development, Alhaji Abubakar Saddique Boniface has promised to discharge his duty - as a Minister of State with diligence and treat all Zongo dwellers with fairly despite their religious, ethnic and social differences.
When given the nod, the Member of Parliament for Madina Constituency said he would ensure an even distribution of resources and deal with issues of social injustices faced by people living in the Zongos and Inner cities across the country.
“I will serve as a Minister for all Ghanaians and not of a political party or religious group. There will be no discrimination in discharging my duties,” he said.
Alhaji Saddique Boniface has also made his intentions of rehabilitating Zongos and Inner cities to erase the stereotype that sees such places as breeding grounds for criminals and hooligans.
He explained that his ministry would embark on conscientisation programmes to educate the people in order to reduce crime.
He has plans of reducing unemployment and poverty by making the Zongo development fund available to the youths who are interested in doing businesses and creating jobs for the graduate Zongo youth.
